Exciting Racing At Nilma North

A good turnout of senior riders made for exciting riding on Saturday afternoon at the Nilma North circuit.

A and B grade riders raced for 60 kilometres and C grade riders for 40 kilometers over the fairly demanding circuit.

John Salton continues to dominate A grade seniors at club level and won again on Saturday, Wayne Proud was second and Gerard Donnelly third.

Brian Miller put a big effort into the sprint in B grade seniors and crossed the line in front of Grubb Melnyk and Graeme Hanks.

Andy Rule was the winner of C grade seniors with Ken Best second and Kevin Ware third.

Juveniles raced over a distance of 30 kilometers and unfortunately it rained for most of their race.

Brett Williams won A grade with Brett Miller second and Stuart Cuckson third.

Travis Fromholtz won B grade with Damion Jarrard second.

Peter Finlayson has taken over the lead in the point score. Peter has 46 points, Mike Coyne and John Salton both have 44 points and Paul Yeatman has 40 points.

Travis Fromholtz still leads the juvenile point score with 60 points, Brett Williams has 55 points. Stuart Cuckson 54 points and Brett Miller 49 points.

Wayne Kestle had a good win last weekend in the VCF juvenile race at Lang Ling and followed it up the following day with a win in The Ross Yeoman memorial race.  ed – According to the race report, a 4minute man won…

Next Saturday the club will hold the club championships at Nilma North.  The race distance is 80 kilometers and a barbecue and trophy presentation will be held after the race.

The Tour De France is being televised on SBS at 6 pm every night for the next fortnight.
