Six Warragul Cycling Club members journeyed to Outrrim to contest the Gippsland Individual Time Trial Championships. Riders began in revers order (of classification and number).
Of the Warragul riders, Thomas Sander headed off first in MMAS467 followed by Shane Stiles, Steve Muggeridge, Karen Munroe and Paul Yeatman all in MMAS123. Next was James Henry our lone Elite representative.
The run from Outrim to the Bass highway was pretty cushy with a lovely tail wind blowing everyone one along. Average speeds in the mid 40’s were run of the mill. Coming home was a slog as there was a nasty cross/head wind. This made things even more interesting for those kitted out with deep rims.
A few of our riders commented that they ran out of legs on the way home. The last 2km of the course was the worse due to the road being dead, slightly inclined and directly into the wind.
James took out 2nd in the Elite. Shane came 1st in MMAS123 with Paul 2nd. Karen came 2nd in the women’s. Thomas came fist in the MMAS456.
