Results

A Grade
1st Cy Monk led out the sprint and he just held of a fast finishing Jack Walk. This is his 4th win in a row.
2ndJack Walk. Rode strong and would have won if the finish line was a meter further up the road.
3rdJayden Manintveld- Spent much of the race off the front trying to force the pace after having ridden off the front during the neutral first two laps. He made the sprinters work for it.
4th Joe Patrick – Returning to form after having most of the year off to study Year 12. He will be even better after a couple more weeks of training.
5th Guest starring Paul Yeatman – Having missed the start of B grade due to a traffic jam and “warming up” for 33 minutes in B grade, spent as much time hanging off the back of the bunch as on the front in time trial mode.
6th Leigh Hauxwell – Did nothing most of the race then blew any chance of winning by doing the last 2 laps on the front. Launched his final attack half way along the back straight on the last lap.

The A grade Finish. Cy Monk left just beats Jack Walk right. Jayden Manintveld in third.

B Grade

1st Dave Salton – A class above this field. Showed everyone how to corner and how to attack. Rode the last two laps off the front and just hung on for a well deserved win. A grade next week.
2nd Rob Monk – Corners like  W Class Tram. Did nothing all race so had plenty left for the final sprint. Was mowing Salton down but didn’t quite get there.
3rd Russel Church – Visitor from Caulfield Carnegie who got in a few moves and raced strongly.
4th Peter Whelan – Had a few cornering issues when trying to break away. Certainly gave the witches hats in the top corner a workout on more than one occasion.
5th Colin Brown – Old and slow.

C Grade

1st James Blyth – Did plenty of work during the race and when he took off before the bell the bunch hesitated and then could not catch him.
2nd RobWaddel – Did what needed to be done to secure a series win.
3rd ColinManintveld – Chased hard when the young fellows went up the road. Needs to learn how to sprint.
4thMatt Duttneal – Got in a few breaks. Needs to up the intensity of the training to be able to sustain his efforts.
5th Duane McDonald – Another W Class Tram in the corners but he’s not afraid to go to the front in the straits when the

D Grade

1st Terry Kelly – A spectator described Kelly’s race “He was poetry in motion. He had the troops marshalled to within an inch of their life. On the bell he finished the last of his single malt whisky, loosened the cravat and butted his cigarette out on the side of Paul Kennedy‘s helmet as he rode passed humming the theme song to the “Spy Who Loved Me”. Gotta admit I welled up.”
2nd Paul Kennedy – Kelly played him like a violin most of the race. Keno toiled some would say manfully, while others would say stupidly, chasing for much of the race.
3rd Wayne Tunks – Tunksy is also a contemporary of Terry Kelly. Both starred in the criteriums raced to entertain the troops before they left for WW1. Tunksy can still get around the corners OK.
4th Andrew Gordon – Gordo spent a lot of the race on the front but weakened a bit in the finish.
5th Adele Whelan – The smiling assassin was coaxed to do some turns near the end of the race. She needs to learn to resist these urges.
6th Robyn Baker – Getting braver on the corners every week. She even spent some time off the front this week.
