5 Years of Sponsorship Exposure!

The Club is buying new race numbers for use on Road and Track events.  The new numbers are cloth and in duplicate (you will wear two numbers  on your back – one on left and right side) and will last for five  years.

This is Your Opportunity to Sponsor All Numbers or  Just One Grade

  •  A Grade – numbers 1 to 20
  •  B Grade – numbers 21 to 40
  •  C Grade – numbers 41 to 60
  •  D Grade – numbers 61 to 80
  •  E Grade – numbers 81 to 100

How Do You Get Your Business Name (or  Your Employer’s) and  Logo on These Numbers?

Simple, put your bid on our Ebay site (dead link deleted).  Quick -  you only have 9 days and 4 hours to bid!   Alternately, go to ebay and search for “Warragul Cycling Club”

Proceeds of the Sponsorship will be used to

  • a) pay for the numbers and  then
  • b) contribute towards our ‘Safe Bunch Riding in Baw Baw” project  that is commencing tonight. Any surplus funds will be applied to our  junior track facilities. Great causes, and hence the request for your  support!

If you want to bid but are not on ebay please email your bid to Jayman  Prestidge at this email address and I will place a bid on your behalf.  Your email will be evidence of the bid and if successful, cash will be  payable immediately upon a successful bid.

This is a great opportunity for an ongoing sponsorship with the fastest growing  club in Warragul!  Your name and /or logo will be seen on many cyclists most weekends around the region.
PS. Any unsold numbers will feature the current Presidents photo so  please ensure you bid to avoid having to put up with me more than you  do!

Cheers and see you on the road,

New Club Kit Approved By Comittee

Posted on March 14, 2013 by

14/03/2013

At last night’s club meeting, the committee approved the new club kit, 11 votes to 1.

Once we get approval from CV regarding the design and set up an online shop through Champion System, you will be able to order the kit in as large or as small a quantity as you like.

The orange is said to link to the current kit / club history.  There are lines falling at an angle on the right of the mountains to signify the sun.  The blue signifies the sky (not the blue in the old kit).  The white sides and orange bands are high visibility elements.  The mountains represent how hilly Warragul is. The pin stripes are there because the committee wanted some.  The swoosh on the chest logo can also be interpreted  as a road leading to the mountains*.  On the back of the jersey there are more lines (white with a gradient fading to black) at an angle that should add a slimming effect.  There are also some low contrast downward overlapping triangles on the glute panel of the shorts.

Of the “winning” “straw poll” design, the only remaining elements are the predominantly black design. the new text logo element,  club logo on the chest in a non standard colour, solid arm bands and some form of pin-striping.

See it here.

*The webmaster prefers to think it leads away from the mountains, nasty things.

Warragul Cycling Club Chosen for Documentary Film

Posted on February 6, 2013 by

Media Release – Friday 2 February, 2013

Warragul Cycling Club Chosen for Documentary Film

The Warragul Cycling Club has been chosen by Melbourne based film makers, Waterbyrd Filmz, as the setting for a 75 minute documentary on Club Cycling in Australia.

After interviewing several metropolitan cycling clubs Waterbyrd Filmz chose Warragul Cycling Club due to its inclusive and welcoming nature, its diverse membership which spans all age ranges, its wide service offering of recreational, road and track cycling activities, and it’s passionate Committee who operate the Club on a voluntary basis.

The magnificent rural location and beautiful landscapes were a contributing factor and will feature prominently in the documentary.

The film makers vision is to show the audience the passion and motivations of ordinary Club Cyclists in Australia and to inform the general public about the organisation required to organise and run a multi stage road cycling event. With professional cycling receiving adverse media in recent years, this documentary will highlight the grass roots of what is a beautiful sport.

The documentary will follow six local Club Cyclists as they train for and race in the 2013 Gippsland 3 Day Tour, and event which occurs on the June long weekend. The documentary will and also follow the organising Committee behind the event as they deal with the various stakeholders involved in running an event on public roads.

Filming commences on February 1, 2013 and will be completed following the Gippsland 3 Day Tour in June.

Warragul Cycling Club is a great growth story, with greater than 50% increase in members in the past year. Warragul has an exceptionally large participation of women due to passionate community members driving this growth, which has resulted directly in Warragul achieving the third highest growth in women joining a cycling club in Victoria in the 2012 year.

Given the catchment areas of the large metropolitan Clubs in comparison to the Warragul Cycling Club this statistic is outstanding.

The Committee and Members of the Warragul Cycling Club are extremely pleased to promote Warragul and West Gippsland, its Club Members and its environs in such a unique way.

Please contact Jayman Prestidge of Warragul Cycling Club on 0417 118 804 or Nickolas Bird of Waterbird Filmz on 0419 101 572 should you require further information.
