Procedures for Race Day

In response to the ongoing risk management cycle the committee requires all members be familiar with the following race day procedures...

  • Marshals will be assigned according to a duty roster by the committee. As a member of the Warragul Cycling Club it is your responsibility to attend on this day and carry out the assigned task. If you cannot attend you must arrange an alternative replacement. If you or an alternate acting on your behalf fails to attend then you will be penalized according to the new penalty system (CLICK HERE).
  • All marshals must attend a pre-race briefing by the commissaire. It is your responsibility to be familiar with the role of the marshal, the use of the phone and the flag signals. If you are unsure then you must seek assistance from the commissaire.
  • All race entries close at 1:45pm SHARP on race day (10:15am for the 10:30am start races). You must have registered by this time to be eligible to race. This ensures the commissaire is able to give the pre-race briefing to everyone.
  • In order to register you must have a valid racing licence and the race entry fee. These must be presented to the race starter by the cut off time.
  • All cyclists must attend (and be attentive to) the pre-race briefing from the commissaire - this means you need to be finished your warm-up by 1:45pm. This is a requirement for risk management procedures.
  • Cyclists will then be handed over to the starter who will indicate start times, distances etc. and start the race.
  • A post-race briefing will occur if necessary.
  • Cyclists and spectators are not to assemble, wait, watch, etc. on or near the roadside unless performing a specified task and wearing a safety vest.
