The track meeting was well attended with over 30 riders from Latrobe Valley, Leongatha and Warragul competing. A grade was again evenly contested. Kane Walker won the opening scratch race, Brett Rollinson won the handicap, Phil Gallagher won the points race and Brett finished the night with a narrow victory over Phil in the 30 lap motor pace. Brett leads the three night carnival from Kane and Phil.
In B grade Leongatha junior rider Nathan Corrigan took out the scratch race and Shannon McCurley won the elimination race. Shannon also held the motor bike longer than most of the A graders in the motor pace to finish a creditable third.
The junior races were hotly contested as the visitors from Leongatha took on the local boys. James Lalor from Warragul proved too strong on the night taking out each event. He was joined on the podium by Morgan Clark and Michael Wight from Leongatha in most races. Cy Monk finished second to James in the junior elimination.
The final Warragul Open Track event is this Friday night. The overall series is still very much alive with Kane Walker and Brett Rollinson fighting for the championship. The racing will fast and furious and spectators are welcome.
