Today’s race was held on a calm but hot day. Temperatures averaged at 36.
In A grade, the biggest break came from Shane Stiles who eased off the front on the climb about midway through. The bunch appeared unwilling to chase initially. Once Simon Baxter, Brett Rollinson and Paul Yeatman did some turns, the gap came down and everyone was together for the final lap. Other attacks took place, however your race reporter was a bit cooked to remember who did what when.
C grade saw a strong attack in the final lap by Ben Perry. He powered past A/B up the climb and developed a strong lead on the rest of his bunch. A fast finishing Ross Henry almost got over the top of Ben. Perry held his lead however.
D grade saw the early retirement of Annie Prijmak who decided it was wiser to sit in the shade than bake in a race. This left if up to Adele Whelan and Robyn Baker to sprint it out. Whelan was the victor.
